From the desk of... The LinJen Promotions Creative Team RE: National Safety Month Can Save You Money
  Solutions #46

Whether your workplace is a cushy office suite or dangerous construction site, there’s value to raising safety awareness among your employees. On-the-job combined with at-home accidents cost businesses more than $200 billion in wages, productivity and medical expenses annually, according to the National Safety Council.

National Safety Month, each June, is the perfect time to evaluate your safety programs and remind your staff of personal practices likely to keep them harm-free at home, on the road and in the office.

These practices are based on understanding where danger lies. The top five causes of unintentional injury-deaths are: 1) vehicular accidents, 2) falls, 3) poisoning, 4) choking and 5) drowning.

There are many useful promotional products that can educate your most important assets – your employees – about these dangers and act as constant safety reminders. Here are a few examples:

  • Travel mugs with your company logo and the words “Buckle Up.”
  • Wall clocks with the warning “Step Safely,” hung in slippery or dangerous work zones.
  • Magnets imprinted with important safety information such as the poison-control phone number or basic CPR steps.

These reminders can save not only lives, but money. For every $1 you invest in safety for your employees, you’ll achieve $3 to $6 in savings, according to estimates from the Liberty Mutual Research Institute. And, you’ll be viewed as a caring, helpful employer – which certainly doesn’t hurt in today’s struggle to win and keep top employees.

Let us know if you’d like to talk about programs to celebrate National Safety Month at your company this June. Just give us a call at 708-478-8222 or send us an e-mail.
