While the golf tournament may be the granddaddy of all events, you don’t need an 18-hole course to drive home an excellent green-grass promotion. In fact, there are many venues, occasions and concepts that allow you to tap into the powerful pull of the golfing pastime. Here are a few ideas to tie into the popular sport without spending a bundle on a tournament:

Set up a hole-in-one game at your retail establishment, trade-show booth or event location. This can be fun for audiences of all ages and provides a promotion theme. Simply set up a faux putting green and provide customer discounts or prizes for everyone who gets a hole in one. Send guests away with a keepsake – offer chocolate “golf ball” candies in imprinted wrappers or bag tags with your company or product information on them.

Rent a driving range for a “distance challenge.” This is a way to get into the spirit of competition without having to coordinate an entire tournament. Many of the same wonderful promotional items still apply: imprinted golf balls, tees, awards, etc.

Have customers guess the number of golf balls. A clever tease, such as “Let’s take a swing at better business solutions” shows your intent to mix business with pleasure.
